Obituary for James Albert Casson
CASSON, James A. – Died on Sunday, May 6, 2018, following a brief illness, in his 80th year. He is survived by his beloved wife and best friend Noreen. Also survived by his children and step-children: son James H. Casson (Sabine) of Fenwick, daughter Leslie Casson of Inverary, ON, step-daughter Elizabeth Hill-Poulin (Danny) of Port Colborne, and stepsons Jeffrey Roets (Jane) of Ellington, CT and Timothy Roets (Amanda) of Westfield, NY. Loving grandfather of Mackenzie and Nigel Casson and step—grandfather of Kelsi, Jonathan and Barbara Hopkins, Andrew, Kathryn and Helen Roets, Max and Ayla Roets and Alyssa Poulin.
Jim was predeceased by his parents Dorothy and Albert, sister Judith, brother Eric, former wife Marilyn Casson and son-in-law Richard Hill.
Jim graduated from Pelham High School and was a retired partner with Grant Thornton CA/CPA Firm. He was currently employed as an Administrator with Vanderlann Farms in Port Colborne.
Jim’s family will receive visitors at the H.L. Cudney Funeral Home, 241 West Main Street, Welland on Wednesday, May 9th at 10 a.m. followed immediately by a Celebration of Life, conducted by the Venerable Dr. John Course, in the Cudney Chapel at 11 a.m. Interment at Woodlawn Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the Niagara EMS Paramedics and the staff from the ER and 3rd Floor at GNGH for their many kindnesses and quality care.
Jim directs his friends and enemies to take time to remember him by enjoying a single malt scotch with water (no ice) and a fine cigar.
