Jo-Anne was a former member and noble grand of the Grace Rebekah Lodge #136 of Port Colborne. In Welland, she was a Weight Watchers (WW) meeting room leader and a facilitator for WW in the Workplace for many years. During a few strawberry seasons, Jo-Anne could be found decked in red serving up strawberry shortcake at the local market and assisting in trivia nights for the Welland Museum (Board member, early 2000s - 2013). Keeping physically active was important to Jo-Anne and she demonstrated that through the outstanding amount of donations she raised for the Terry Fox Run over the years. She loved a card game or two with bridge and euchre as her favourites and she was a voracious reader of newspapers and a crossword puzzle super solver. In November 2016, Jo-Anne celebrated 55 years as a member of the Welland Al-Anon Family Group, Central United Church. During the latter part of her life, she joined the Central United Church congregation and participated in activities with Seasons First Avenue, a retirement Community in Welland. Jo-Anne loved music and attended many Welland music concerts at Centennial Secondary High School, all part of the Welland-Port Colborne Concert Association.
