WELLENREITER, John – Passed away peacefully at the Woodlands of Sunset on Monday, June 19, 2017 in his 84th year. Cherished father of Carl Wellenreiter and proud grandfather of Mathias John Carl Wellenreiter. He will be sadly missed by his sister Theresa Barth, her sons Steve and Jack and their families. Predeceased by his parents Matt and Eva Wellenreiter. John retired from Stelco after 30 years of service. He was an avid outdoorsman who had a passion for fishing. Respecting his wishes, cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends at the H.L. Cudney Funeral Home, 241 West Main Street, Welland on Thursday, June 22nd from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. A service to celebrate John’s life will be held in the Cudney Chapel on Friday, June 23rd at 11 a.m. Rite of Committal to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
