ZARESKI, THOMAS – The family of Tom Zareski announces his peaceful passing at the Port Colborne Hospital on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at the age of 87. Tom was the beloved husband of Anne (nee Cebolsky) for 63 years. Dear father of MaryAnn Vaughan (late Dr. David Vaughan) Jay Zareski (Sue), Cathy Lee (Grant), Jim Zareski (Renee) and Michael Zareski. He is remembered with love by grandchildren Jennifer, Adam, Nicole, Alison, Michelle and Michaela. Tom is also survived by his sister Rose of Welland and several nieces and nephews in Ontario, Nova Scotia and British Columbia. Tom was predeceased by his parents John and Mary Zareski, his sister Anne Krol (Michael), sister Frances Cavin (Gerald) and brothers Stanley (Rose), Walter (Gladys) and Frank (Agnes). Tom began his career in Municipal and School Administrations with Crowland Township; then moving on to Elliot Lake, Cambridge and Port Colborne. He then changed direction by switching to a public relations position with a consulting engineering firm in Toronto, then retiring in 1993 from a sales position locally with McRae Heating and Air Conditioning. Tom had a passion for music and pursued a musical hobby with bands wherever he and his family resided. For most of his life, he was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Church, and latterly, of the Parish Community of St. Kevin’s Church, both of Welland. Respecting Tom’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Welland and District Humane Society or a charity of one’s choice with cards available at the H.L.
