VENTRESCA, Maria “Mary” (nee Libertini) – It is with great sadness that the families of Dr. Mario R. Ventresca (Angela) and Leo A. Ventresca (Nancy) announce the passing of their cherished mother on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 , at the Welland Hospital. Mary is reunited with her beloved husband Mario (2011). Proud “Nonna” of Mitchell, the late Kevin (1992), Joshua, Marina, Leo Jr., Jacob, Julia and Isaac. Dear sister of the late Charlie Libertini (Ann) and the late Sylvia Valeriote (late Nino). Sister-in-law of Getulia Marchionda (Antonio), Rosolino Ventresca (Alba), Sante Ventresca (Angela), Pia Marinucci (Panfilo), late Giovina Del Monaco (late Verino). Fondly remembered by several nieces and nephews in North America and abroad. Predeceased by her parents Vincenzo and Elvira Libertini. Mary was kind and selfless, devoting her life to her family. She was a wonderful cook and loved to entertain for her friends and her extended family. She was very proud of her sons achievements and cherished the visits from her grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the H.L. Cudney Funeral Home, 241 West Main Street, Welland on Friday, March 10th from 6 – 8 p.m. Father Vijay Amirtharaj c.s.c. from the Parish Community of St. Kevin will conduct a funeral service in the Cudney Chapel on Saturday, March 11th at 11:30 a.m. Rite of Committal to follow in Holy Cross Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, the family suggests donations to the Walker Cancer Centre or to Rapelje Lodge who provided the highest standard of care and compassion during Mary’s time spent there as a resident.
