Obituary for Danny Fox

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Danny on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 after a courageous battle against Leukemia, fought every day with dignity, hope, love and courage. Beloved husband and best friend of Susan “Susie” for 47 years. Cherished son-in-law of Yolande Kirouac (late Raymond). Dear brother-in-law of ; Linda Turgeon (Cam), Daniel Kirouac, Michael “Stitch” Kirouac, Claude Kirouac (Pauline), Gwen Vicieli (Renzo), Marc Kirouac (Jane), Steve Kirouac (Louise), Theresa “Terry” Kirouac (Rocky) and Jamie Kirouac. Also survived by his sister-in-law Sandra Fox. Danny will be sadly missed by his nieces and nephews; Derek Fox, Tanya Kilpiainan (Brian), Scott Fox (Erica), Jeff and Wendy Pearson, Sara Kirouac, Trisha Kirouac, Michael Kirouac, Samantha Kirouac (Mark), Geoff Smith (Joanne), Ian Szagetti, Michael Kirouac, Brianne Kirouac, Stacey Carusetta (Bruno), Jay Kirouac (Kristen), Warren Greenaway (Stephanie) and Jade Greenaway (Ryan). Lovingly remembered by his cousin and dear friends Ann and Bob Sharp as well as his large extended family and many friends. Predeceased by his parents Albert and Veronica Fox and brother Gary. Danny began a 35 year career with G.E. Canada in Trenton, Ontario where he and Susie lived for ten years forming many wonderful friendships that created lasting memories. His career then took them to Peterborough for 27 years where he retired in 2004. Following his retirement, he and Susie returned “home” to Welland to be closer to their families. Danny loved cars and had a great passion for collecting Hot Wheels. He will be best remembered for his wit, sense of humour and that unforgettable laugh. He always remained positive and hopeful and faced his illness with great courage and a radiant smile that never left him even on the darkest days. Above all else, Danny loved his “Susie” with a deep and everlasting love. He will be greatly missed by family and all who knew him, and many happy and cherished memories will never be forgotten. The family will receive friends at the H.L. Cudney Funeral Home, 241 West Main Street, Welland on Friday (today), October 14th from 6 – 9 p.m. A service to celebrate and honour Danny’s life will be held in the Cudney Chapel on Saturday, October 15th at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Doan’s Ridge Cemetery.
