Obituary for Kenneth Duerden

DUERDEN, Kenneth – Passed away peacefully, with his family by his side, at the Woolcott Wing of the Welland Hospital on Thursday, September 22nd, 2016 at the age of 89. Predeceased by his wife Joan (1997). Loving father of Keith (Sheila), Jean, Susan and John (Sandra). Loving companion of Joan Scott. Cherished grandfather of Wayne (Kim), Michael (Stacy), Brian (Maureen), Douglas (Christine), Christopher, Jesse (Lizette), Erin (Michael), Kenneth, Lori, and Thomas (Sara) and nineteen great grandchildren. Kenneth was a veteran of World War II, serving with the Royal Navy and the Merchant Marines. Kenneth was employed by Atlas Steels for 31 years, retiring in 1987. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #4, the Velvetones and the Singing Saints. The family will receive their friends at the H.L. Cudney Funeral Home, 241 West Main Street, Welland on Tuesday, September 27th from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. A funeral service will be held at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, 29 Bald Street, Welland on Wednesday, September 28th at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Pleasantview Memorial Gardens.
