Obituary for Gail Boucher (Herring)

BOUCHER, Lorna Gail Boucher (nee. Herring) - May 22, 1941 – September 10, 2016. In her typical no-nonsense, black and white, no heroics fashion, and on her own terms, Gail passed away from a brief stint with cancer on Saturday, September 10th, 2016 at 1:00 am. She is predeceased by her parents, George and Dorothy, her husband, Joe (2002), her brother, Raymond (2016), and is survived by her other brother, Kevin (Jeannie). Gail will forever remain in the hearts and minds of all who she touched, especially her son Christopher, daughter Andrea, son-in-law David, and her three lovely granddaughters, Sydney, Jorja and Grace, whom she loved as much as or more than life itself. Everyone who knew Gail was often subjected to her opinion, one often lacking a filter. That said you always knew where you stood with her. She either liked you or she didn’t, if she did, she was a true and loyal friend. Gail was larger than life, with a sense of humour, smile, and laugh to match. A Welland girl through and through, she was born, raised, and laid to rest here. By far, her favourite spot to be, anytime of the year, but especially during the summer, was relaxing at her son-in-law and daughter’s cottage in Port Elgin on the shores of Lake Huron. Many happy days and holidays were spent there. In lieu of flowers or donations, please take a moment to reach out to a friend or family member. Life is short. A Celebration of Gail’s life will take place at the family home, 523 Clare Avenue, Welland, ON, on Sunday, September 18th, 2016 from 1 to 4 pm.
