After a long and fulfilling life Gordon passed away peacefully at the Royal Rose Place on Saturday, September 3rd, 2016 at the age of 93. He is reunited with his beloved wife Agnes (nee McIntyre) (2007) and cherished son Douglas Moote (2007). Devoted father of Diane Bridgland (Roy) and Patti Moote. Loving grandfather of Lindsay Bridgland (Simon), Janice Bridgland (Connell), Hilary Neufeld (Steve), Jessica Welychka (Tim), Adam Moote (Melissa) and Spencer Moote (Adam Bishop) and great grandfather of Jaxon, Mackenzie and Gemma. He is survived by his sister-in-law Jeanie Davis and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Bruce and Alberta and his siblings, Jean, Dorothy, Olive, Molly, Patricia and Lawrence “Bud”. Gordon was a member of the Quarter Century Club of Atlas Steels and continued working, retiring after 42 years of service. A service to celebrate Gordon’s life will be held at the H.L. Cudney Funeral Home, 241 West Main Street, Welland on Wednesday, September 7th at 1 p.m. with visitation two hours prior, beginning at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Fonthill Cemetery.
